Craig Alaska sportfishing for the past 3 days was good as far as catching Coho’s was concerned although the weather was tough on 2 of the days with high winds and rough seas which limited the boats from going off shore on two
out of the three days. Coho limits were attained by early morning for most boats and the rest of the time was spent searching for bottom fish and fighting the windy conditions
Craig Alaska sportfishing report for Kingfisher lodge for the last group of the season and last week of the month of August. We had 15 guests in for the last groups and landed the remainder of our 42 GAF halibut and limits of Coho salmon all except the one day Captain Harding needed 2 GAF halibut so he put his efforts into catching two 100 plus fish as well as 90 plus big Coho’s for his boat, good job Braden! Nils finished strong as well landing limits of Coho’s and halibut and some really nice Ling cod. Captain Steenstra landed his limits of fish as well and this concludes Captain Joel Steenstra’s last season for Kingfisher Lodge. Joel has become one of the best guides in the area and has a work ethic like non other. Not many captains can guide anglers without a deck hand and produce limits day after day and year after year. Joel will do well in his new business “Wide Open Charters” and anyone that fishes with Joel will not be disappointed. We can’t say enough great things about Joel and he has become like a family member to us over all these past 10 or 12 years of working for us. He started as a single guy and now he has a wonderful family of 5, his own home, boat and business, Thanks Joel and good luck in all you do. You will do well no doubt about that.
Thanks again for reading my reports this summer and look forward to next year and hopefully lots of fish to catch.
