Alaska sport fishing report for Kingfisher Lodge in Craig Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. Craig is located in southern south east Alaska and boasts some of the most productive salmon and halibut fishing in the world due to its great location. If you come to Craig you will experience great fishing, great scenery and wildlife all without the crowds of towns like Sitka, Ketchikan and other larger coastal towns. When you come to Craig to sport fish you get the whole package of fishing unlike anywhere else in the world since this area has it all.

Today we did business as usual except we landed our King salmon as if they were penned up waiting for us. Captain Joel had already landed his King salmon the previous three days so we were needing ours as we had focused mostly on silver salmon and bottom fish our previous 2 days. Today our focus was first Silver salmon, then King salmon, and third bottom fish. So after we landed our silver salmon we went searching for King salmon which avoiding the sea lions and other boats went on the prowl in new areas and were rewarded by a great King salmon bite that lasted 40 minutes or so, but ended in a great catch of King salmon. Then off to get our Halibut which proved to be another long day trying to catch the “big one” but did land a few smaller and one nice 44″ butt. Let the photo’s tell the tale.
