Sportfishing report for Craig, Alaska. 16th of August, 2026.
August 16, 2026
I apologize for an involuntarily hiatus, but we have been super busy with half-days and no real turnovers as normal which resulted in me missing doing a fishing report. But here we are. The past 2 groups we have been blessed with gorgeous weather and great fishing. The weather has almost been a little too nice with temperatures climbing well over 70 degrees which puts a strain on the guides and fish cutters.

Like I said fishing has been great with limits of most fish available at the moment. The Coho fishing varies each day but limits have been caught by all boats. Bottom fishing continues to be great regarding halibut, yelloweye rockfish and black bass.
A special shoutout to Jake who caught this monster 85 inch halibut that ended up breaking the scale at the dock. The chart says that the weight should be in the realm of 320-350 lbs.

We have about two weeks left of the season and we pray that the fishing stays the same and that the weather cooperates.
