Fishing Report For Prince Of Wales Island. 24th of August, 2026.

Well we definately had a change in the weather pattern compared to the last few weeks. All of a sudden it went back to weather we are used to, wet, windy and cold and certain days heavy fog. Unfortunately the fishing went down a little bit as well. We are not seeing those 1 hour Silver Salmon limits. But in general Boats have been getting limits or close to limit of Silver Salmon every day. I will say one thing this year is that the Cohos are very big. The average size is bigger than it has in years. Some are so big that they will at times fool the guides to be King Salmon.

I would say that the fishing is fair to good for this time of year for Silver Salmon. Bottom fishing continues to be excellent. Specially the GAF halibut that have been hitting the dock as of late have been monsters. This past week we had 2 measuring 72″. Unfortunately due to a broken scale we can not confirm the weight but estimations would put them in the 180 lbs range,
