Fishing Report For Craig, Alaska. 28th of August, 2026.

As we are starting to feel the fall moving in and we have a few more groups to go we were yet again blessed with great weather. The only complaint was maybe that it was a bit foggy at times. But as most of the Coho fishing is being conducted on the outside waters, we were very happy with the flat seas. Coho fishing continues to be stable, with boats catching limits or close to limits every day. Again, the average size is pretty big. One Coho landed on captain Nils’s boat weighed in at an impressive 18 lbs.

Bottom fishing continues to be excellent. All boats got their limits of Yelloweye Rockfish on the last day the fishery was open. Between the 3 boats, 3 GAF Halibut were landed between 62-66 inches, also nice “keeper” halibut were hitting the dock as well limits of Black Bass. As Lingcod were closed the boats released countless of giant Lingcod in the 35-50 inch range.
