Kingfisher Lodge Fishing Report, 14th of July, 2025
July 14, 2025
As we I mentioned in my last report the cohos were starting to show up. And they have, in pretty good numbers at that. We are not seeing the lightning fast limits in 1-2 hours that are common at times during the season. But most boats are coming with limits or close to limits of cohos each day. Some days may be a little bit slower than others but all in all I would consider be pretty good fishing for the time of year. We expect the fishing to improve day by day, also the cohos should increase in size the closer we get to the month of August.
The weather is still pretty cold and wet. The last week or so it has been pretty windy at that. Causing some of the guests to turn a bit green. But one can not call themselves a fisherman if they are going to let a little lumpy seas prohibit one from going out and catching your fish.
The bottom fishing is still good. In terms of halibut we were still able to get off-shore the last few days. However we were not able to do as much jigging for yelloweye and lingcod as we would have liked.
On the bright side the weather is clearing up and getting warmer, the bad news is that the wind is turning and is going to be coming from the northwest for the foreseeable future.
