Prince of Wales sport fishing report near Craig Alaska for the dates of 23rd through the 26th of July.

Despite all the negative news on the countries state of affairs there are positive effects of the Corona Virus and the picture above shows positive effects of the huge downturn in travel to Alaska; and that is more king salmon for those that are willing to travel to the state. It appears King salmon fishing remains strong as we are nearing the first of August and word from a troller friend in Sitka; the King salmon have flushed into the Sitka area with the big tides and are headed this way! Great news for those coming to fish the Craig or west Prince of Wales island area. With 2 King salmon a day and 6 Silver salmon a day limits visitors better be prepared to have lots of freezer space when they return from charter fishing in the Craig area.

Silver salmon continue to increase in numbers as we near the first of August with bottom fishing including halibut continue to be healthy. We encourage anyone interested in travel to the Craig area to capitalize on the increased limits and strong runs to give us a call as we have open spots due to virus related cancellations. Thanks for reading our reports and check our Facebook and Instagram for more pictures of our catches. Captain Backstrome is adding the pictures to Instagram for me.
