Fishing

Fishing report for Craig, Alaska. 22nd of July, 2026.

With the King Salmon limits being great for this time of year (3 King Salmon annually per angler), and that the Silver Salmon have not shown up in full force yet, our eyes were still set on King Salmon. All together we were very successful but it did not come easy.

We were pounded by pretty steady 20-25 mph Northwest winds all 3 days that created less than desirable conditions. All guests were willing to put their money were their mouth is and “embrace the suck”. All jokes aside, the water conditions were not great but at least we had clear skies and sun.

All three boat were able to get their King Salmon limits for the trip except for 2 boats being one King Salmon short over the whole trip. Over the trip we were also able to land 4 GAF halibut between 57-60 inches, daily limits of halibut, black bass or yelloweye rockfish were caught in these tough conditions.

Moving forward we are still anticipating a good amount of Silver Salmon to run in. We are hearing that it is heating up and more cohos are caught out there. Also some commercial fishermen are running into pretty good amounts off-shore.
