Sportfishing Report for Prince of Wales Island. 18th of July 2026.

We have not been blessed with neither great fishing nor good weather. With that said all three boats have done pretty well considering the circumstances. Between the three boats limits of halibut were caught. A total of 56 King Salmon were allowed according to the the current limits, the boats ended up with 46 of them.

We were also able to land 4 out of 4 GAF halibut, ranging from 90 to 120 lbs. In regards to the weather conditions it was a very good outcome.

On the downside we did not run into any Silver Salmon. Everything feels primed and ready to go but they are just not here yet. I did get reports today of some spots that offered a good bite. So no we enter the stage of the season where we need to start prioritizing one species over the other.

We look forward to the next three days of fishing, the weather forecast looks iffy at best but we will go out there and give it our best. Hopefully we will back here in three days with reports of a wide open Silver Salmon bite.
