Fishing

Prince Of Wales Island, Fishing Report. 25th of June, 2026.

Unfortunately my hopes of King Salmon fishing improving are starting to dwindle a bit. So far it has been a pretty tough few weeks into the season. The fishing is still very slow. We had 2 boats running this last go around and each day gave some mixed results. All in all we did well with limits most days, a couple of days we were a couple of King Salmon short. We are having to put in pretty long days and work really hard to get them and most days we do.

Captain Chuck joined us on the waters as a fisherman alongside his friends Ami, Ben, Bill and Shawn.

The saving grace at the moment is that Halibut fishing has been outstanding allowing us to put more time trying to find King Salmon.

Some good news however is that Alaska Fish and Game have revised its annual limits for non residents after July 1st. When they released the regulations earlier this year it was 1 King Salmon annually, now it is revised to 2 King Salmon Annually. My take on this is that industry wide, business has been down the first part of June. The reason for that were the unusually low allocation last year that rendered in 1 King Salmon annually. So we are very happy with the news.
